Steven says, "It's not just about superheroes. I love the superhero genre and I grew up on that, so yeah, that's going to be part of it, but I also want to tell stories that have situations that will be familiar and relatable to everyone...not just about punching a guy wearing tights and a cape. (Although that's a very relatable life situation more often than you'd think) I want the characters to be real in their emotions, dialogue and reactions. I've had a lot of these characters with me in one form or another for years, so I feel very comfortable with them and I think that helps me mix a little realism into the absurd situations they find themselves in."

Astounding Tales Presents: Rooftops #1 premiered in July 2010 and most recently, issue #4 hit the stands of local comic shops in April 2011.

In addition to his comic projects, Steven also paints and does illustration work. His watercolor and acrylic works have been featured in gallery shows and art fairs in Louisville, Ky. He has also done promotional and CD cover art for bands such as Slithering Beast and Uh Huh Baby Yeah.
